Today's
interview is with F.Searles (Omega Onslaught)! F. Searles, why did you decide to have this
mission about perserving Street Fighter? |
<F. Searles> Originally,
I started the website as a Streetfighter/ Dragon Ball Z fansite called
the Training Room (1999). After spending some time working on it I decided
to dedicate it only to Street Fighter and provide a unique or different
aspect to Street Fighter Websites. I decided to pursue my mission because
I was a big fan of the series and I saw the presence of Street Fighter
sites on the web disappearing. Many of my favorite sites that were up when
I first started are all gone. |
Do you think Street Fighter is the best fighting game out there? |
<F. Searles> It is
my opinion that Street Fighter was one of the best fighting game series
ever released. My favorite Street Fighter game is Street Fighter Alpha
2. |
Do
you think Capcom is slow in releasing new Street Fighter games? Do you
think they treat Street Fighter fairly compared to their other projects?
|
<F. Searles> Yes,
I do believe that Capcom has been slow in releasing new Street Fighter
games and that they tend to place higher priority on other titles. It is
my belief that the reason Capcom has been slow releasing SF games is that
the series is at a stand still. Since 1988, Capcom has released about 15
Street Fighter games and most of those games were just remakes of earlier
versions. It is my belief that the folk at Capcom should take an extended
break from releasing Street Fighter games and use that extra time to create
a new and truely unique Street Fighter experience. I believe that the storylines
should be changed, new original characters introduced, different d-pad
sequences to do special moves, different special movies for old characters
like Ryu and Ken (the games staple characters), new fighting styles added,
etc. |
Do
you have a favorite Street Fighter?
|
<F. Searles> My
favorite street fighters are Sagat and Sean. |
Do you have anything to say to all your fans?
|
<F. Searles> First
and foremost I want to thank the folks at Saikyo Chaos Realm for giving me the opportunity to do this interview. I would also
like to thank all the fans that have made Omega Onslaught a popular Street
Fighter website. I also would like to say thanks to all the people that
have sent me messages with tips on how to improve my site, your tips are
greatly appreciated. Thanks for visiting Omega Onslaught and to the other
webmaster out there keep up the good work.
Respectfully, F. Searles Webmaster, Omega Onslaught
