As Daylight Dies, A Spanish Ninja Tale

Miles underneath the crust of china lies a concrete labyrinth known as Shadowlaw. A Consortium of laboratories filled with the latest technology and test subjects, sleeping quarters and training rooms, it is almost like a city in itself. At night was when it usually came alive with uniformed soldiers carrying out orders, but tonight it was quiet. Only the low hums of the machinery and the murmurs of the few personnel in the hangar preparing the jet where all that could be heard. That was of course, until the unmistakable rhythmic sound of metal clad footsteps made themselves known. Bison confidently marched through the halls towards the war room where his 3 highest ranking underlings awaited.

Balrog eyed Vega wearily. They had been working together for many years but he was always a little nervous when in his presence. The fact Bison let Vega get away with things neither he nor Sagat would dare to do only added to his nervousness. He just didn’t understand why Bison kept Vega around. Sure he was a good killer, but the guy was unstable to put it lightly. Vega was a total Jekyll and Hyde character. He spoke very eloquently but his actions gave another story. Well at least he wasn’t wearing his mask at the moment, that made Balrog feel more nervous, especially with his luminous blue green eyes peering out, made him feel like he was in a horror movie.

While Balrog was pondering this he was absentminded to the fact he was staring at Vega and received a side eye from the blonde killer and suddenly felt awkward. However his awkwardness was short lived as Bison entered the war room. Balrog and Sagat both straightened up. Vega, however, barely flinched.

Bison: “Gentlemen, we are embarking on a special operation. Hence you have been called here. Before we can leave it is best that I prepare you, as this is no ordinary mission. Even with your abilities you will not be strong enough for the coming trial so I will infuse each of you with psycho power.”

The 3 warlords looked at each other as Bison circled the large oval table and stood behind the chair. Bison motioned to the chair in front of him, to which Sagat moved first and sat down in front of Bison.

Bison held his hands an inch away from either side of Sagat’s head and Sagat closed his eyes. The light from Bison’s hands began to quickly glow brightly, and after a few moments began to fade until the light was gone.

Bison “Make you way to the hangar, we’ll be with you shortly”. As Sagat left the room Balrog sat in the chair and Bison repeated the process. After Balrog left the room Vega finally sat in front of Bison. As bison’s hands began to glow he felt a slight force pushing back against his hands. Undecided as to whether this force is a phantom force-a result from himself expiring so much power or to whether it was genuinely coming from Vega, the force felt so weak Bison decided to ignore it and after a few minutes is done. As Vega gets up to leave Bison hesitates.

Bison “Vega…”

Vega turns to address him

Vega “Yes?”

Bison notices that Vega’s left eye has turned from its usual green and blue to hazel.

Bison “….nothing.”

Vega spins on his heel and walks out the door. Bison wait a few moments to gather his thoughts and ponders on the force he felt before making his way to the hangar. The 4 warlords buckle up as the underground tunnel entrance opens up and the pilot prepares the jet for take off. No one has mentioned Vega’s eye colour change to him, as they avoid talking to him except when they need to. Balrog eyes Vega nervously again, watching as his hazel eye starts fading back to its usual green/blue colour. Again Balrog receives a “bitch, please” stare from the attractive assassin. Sagat notices that the pilot has set a course for Japan and breaks the awkward silence.

Sagat: “Sir, is this about Ryu, are we finally going to get Ryu?”

Vega rolls his eyes and makes an gives an irritated sign, Sagat ignores him.

“No.” says Bison confidently. “we are not going to get Ryu”

Sagat sighs.

“…..we are going to get Akuma.”
