Kisara asked me what I knew about the character Spawn. As we all know, Spawn is now a playable character in Mortal Kombat 11. So...
Spawn's real name is Al Simmons. Created by Todd McFarlane and debuted in 1992. Al Simmons was a trained assassin. He was setup by his boss Jason Wynn and murdered. For what he had did while he was alive, it gave him a one way ticket to Hell. After making a deal with Malebogia (his story's Satan), He is sent back to Earth, with barely any memory and living in an alley, and a demonic Clown aka Violator watching his every move.
He has powers that stem from his suit, chains that come out from his chest, teleportation, shapeshifting, ressurection. He's immortal to a certain extent. His powers can drain, and when they do, he can die. I think if he's beheaded that can kill him too. I forget.
He's had a handful of video games based off of him (the SNES one is good, as is the PS2/Xbox game, the rest of them are essentially garbage) and a film where he was played by Michael Jai White. The film itself is okay for a rainy day, John Leguizamo is the best part as he plays Clown. The CGI is bad, even for 1997. Terminator 2 came out in 1991 and that shit was glorious. No excuse. Soundtrack is awesome. From The Crystal Method to Filter, to Marilyn Manson, to Prodigy.
The best interpretation of Spawn was the HBO series, where he was voiced by Keith David. Keith David also reprised the role for MK11.
A reboot film is in development, with Jamie Foxx (who is self-professed Spawn fan) playing Spawn. This film will hopefully be more faithful to the comic than the 1997 film was.

I think he'll do just fine. My 12 year old self is excited about once again seeing RoboCop Vs. The Terminator.
