Awwww, someone (who turned out to be a family member) put flowers outside the victim's house. That was so sweet...

I spoke to the cops again today - the victim's identity has been revealed in the news, after seeing that picture yes I did know him... but in the wake of this shock news, the neighbours referred to him by his nickname 'Diddy', I didn't know he had that nickname (be honest - there's only one famous Diddy who comes to mind for us...); and the murderer is whom the neighbours are saying it is.

And it turns out, that one of the cops is a Street Fighter fan! When explaining my own knowledge of the murderer, I mentioned that he had made a few Vega-hate remarks in the past (he casually joked about Vega getting beaten up, I think in some planned media or something)... and the cop I spoke to said that she herself played Street Fighter in the past, she was a Blanka main. I told her about my Vega mainship and my being a Ken main on Street Fighter 2, as well as for my Cammy binge because of Kylie... and when I said that one of my past cats was named Raul yes after Raul Julia, she said "Oh, he played Captain Bison in the film!" - so yes I corrected her, with "General Bison...".

But now, I'm stuck in the middle of a serious legal matter? Oh. My. God. But they have ruled out, about the dog I saw running down the hill on the day before the murder - the dog has nothing to do with the murder, despite my seeing it coming from the direction of the apartment where the murder took place, and with it that the apartment door was wide open (which can be 'tempting' not just for criminals, but also some animals especially dogs). I know the murderer had a dog, I don't know if that dog could have been the one (let alone, if he had a new puppy?) - but it looked about the right size...

Unless the cops are taking a weekend break, I think the investigation may have fizzed out, as the forensics van has left so I'm guessing they've investigated the apartment over and over for fingerprints and all - but the police tape is still up around the apartment (I even had to tell a little boy to go to his mommy, because he was getting quite close to the police tape), and of course the flowers are still on the lawn.

The murderer was in court on Thursday, and is due again on Monday. The apartment belonged to the victim (the murderer used to live with the grumpy racist paedophile who died in Ken Month - but he got kicked out when the old man was 'locked up', so he needed somewhere else to live) - so I'm guessing that, once all the legalities are taken care of... the council will re-inspect the apartment, and get the rent ball rolling again...

Also when the legalities are done, yes including the murderer's sentence... I think then, they will release the body? We don't know, though, if the hearse will pass through my street, so the victim can say goodbye to his old apartment (I think I've seen some hearses do that, on TV?)... but yes, if it does, I'll know whether or not we need to bash Balrog for him (and if so, then yes 'until further notice' I'll have to let Cammy do the honours)...

Thank you for your concern, Jaden. The cops have reassured us, however, that they feel this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to life - and of course, the murderer is in jail, and I doubt he'll be allowed back to my street...

And there is an update: the murderer has a provisional trial start date of November 4 (the 30th anniversary of when I won the NES War, I know!), with a plea and trial preparation hearing on June 21.

And yes folks, I thought of my past cat Smokey today. He was the original 'sweetheart' cat in my family, before Blinky - he acted as a 'surrogate mom' to three of my other past cats, one of whom went missing just before Ryu had to dedicate his fight to Smokey...
