The SuperBeast Chronicles 7

As the city rebuilt, Mike had relished in his backyard, taking in sun and playing an acoustic guitar. Cammy opened the screendoor, with the house phone in her hand.

Cammy: Mike! There's a phone call for you!

Mike: Who is it?

Cammy: Jeff! Jeff Michaels!

Mike: Really? Oh shit, let me talk to him. Hello?

Mike puts the phone on speaker.

Jeff: Hey buddy, it's JM.

Mike: What's up, man, been awhile.

Jeff: Have you been watching the Izuna Championship Wrestling shows?

Mike: No, I haven't lately. Why?

Jeff: Zangief won the title last night.

Mike: Oh good, good for him.

Jeff: Yeah, but he did a shoot promo on you in the middle of the ring.

Cammy: What's a shoot promo?

Mike cups the phone to tell Cammy.

Mike: When a wrestler is speaking from himself, no planned speeches, getting real life feelings and stuff out.

Cammy: Oh, okay.

Mike: Ahem, What did he say?

Jeff: Well...he said that he wants you dead. He said you left after he debuted so you can hide from him. He said you're not good enough to carry his jock. He said he wants us to book you for a match for the ICW Title.

Mike: What the hell...why is he doing this?

Jeff: Something about how the ICW Title needs to be cleansed of American filth. I dunno, man, but something pissed him off, and you're the one he wants to splatter all over the canvas. I've got two tickets for you here. The next show's this Saturday. You and your wife can show up as honored guests.

Mike: I appreciate it, but no thanks, Jeff. I'm fine where I'm at in life.

Jeff: Mike, you don't understand, if you don't show up, there's no telling what he might do. He's been real stiff on guys in the ring, most end up in hospitals, one guy he retired!

Mike: Who?

Jeff: Mad Dog McKimsey.

Mike: He retired McKimsey? He put me in the hospital three times, he retired that crazy bastard? How?

Jeff: It was a no-holds-barred match, and he powerbombed him off the building.

Mike: The building?

Jeff: It was falls-count-anywhere.

Mike: Shit.

Jeff: I'm in over my head here, I told my superiors you would show up, and if you don't, I'm a deadman. Please!

Mike: Alright. Fine. I'll show up.

Mike had agreed to go back to his roots and enter the pro wrestling circuit once more. Will the result be the same or will things change when him and Zangief come face to face?
